One of the most advanced high speed railway systems in Japan is the Shinkansen, also known as the “Bullet Train”. This network presently links most major cities, and has been in operation since 1964 without any fatal accidents.
Signage and announcements in the main transport system, such as the Shinkansen and express trains, as well as subway and bus networks in the major cities are also available in English.
